December Goals

December Goals | A Girl, Obsessed

It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but I've felt like a stranger to my own blog these past few weeks. You're likely to have noticed how quiet it's been around here since September. I thought I was ready to come back to blogging daily after October, but November turned into another month of me needing to find my inspiration and figure out where I wanted to take AGO from here. I've been in a bit of a rut with my blog...things were beginning to feel repetitive, and I felt that some of my content was lacking in quality. I was getting really bored with the same old roundups of new products I was trying, products I was carrying around with me, and products I was loving for the month. Did I really need to constantly ramble on and on about "this new product" and "the next cult beauty favorite"? It all started to feel kind of shallow to me. I'd rather spend my time talking about beauty tips and tricks instead of just showing different products and saying "oh! I love this!".

I've also decided that I'd like to include more "lifestyle"-type content here on AGO. Some topics that interest me are mental health, self-improvement, being a maker, and simple living, and I'd like to talk more about those types of things. There's still going to be plenty of beauty posts and tips on blogging, but you can also expect to see a little more variety in my content in the future. This year has felt like a chapter of growth in my life, and I'd like my blog to reflect the changes that have been ongoing in my life, style, and creative endeavors. I've rediscovered my love for handmade and have gotten back to my maker roots, and I'd like to be able to share that journey here without it seeming completely out of place. So, yes. Changes. Changes are good. :)
