The Moisturizers That Are Saving My Skin This Winter

The Moisturizers That Are Saving My Skin This Winter | A Girl, Obsessed

This winter has been especially harsh on my skin. With the constant mix of freezing weather and hot, dry indoor heating, my skin has been a parched, itchy mess this season. Thankfully, I’ve discovered a good mix of moisturizers that have been working wonders for keeping my face, body, hands, and feet incredibly hydrated and soothed.

My skincare routine has kind of been all over the place the last few weeks as I’ve just been throwing in every hydrating product I have to see what helps my skin the most. I’ve been going back and forth between two moisturizers – usually using the Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer* in the morning and then the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream at nighttime. The Origins moisturizer has been working fantastically at the start of the day because it absorbs super quickly and gives my skin a nice boost of caffeine. The tiger grass cream is a new addition to my routine, and I’ve really been liking it as it’s incredibly rich and has been rather soothing for my sensitive skin. It is a bit of a thicker cream though, so I do recommend it for more of a nighttime option rather than for during the day.

To really give my skin a boost of hydration, I’ve been using the Fresh Rose Face Mask* a lot lately. It’s such a soothing product and my skin absolutely drinks up every bit of moisture it provides. For my under eye area, I’ve been swearing by the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. This eye cream is so incredibly hydrating and nourishing, and it really keeps the under eye area moisturized all day long. Of course, we can’t forget about our lips, especially during this time of year. I’m forever a fan of Glossier’s Balm Dotcom, and have been using the Birthday scent like crazy this month. It keeps my lips super hydrated, works as a great primer before lipsticks, and smells absolutely delicious.

This face mist smells deliciously of coconut, and makes me so excited for spring and summer. I’ve been using it after intense workouts, along with the Pore Perfecting Multi Cream* from JJ Young. This gel moisturizer is so cool because it’s a toner, essence, and hydrator all in one. My skin drinks every bit up every time I use it, and is left feeling plump, bouncy, and with a radiant glow.

My hands also get extremely dry during the winter, so I’ve been doing everything I can to ensure that stay as soothed as possible. The Lano Hands Rose Hand Cream has been my go-to lately because it’s so intensely hydrating. It’s a rich cream which allows the skin to stay moisturized for several hours, so you’re not left having to reapply over and over again all throughout the day. When my fingers are feeling especially dry, I’ll use a bit of Essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil on my nails and cuticles before applying any hand cream. I love this oil because it really soaks in and absorbs for ultimate results.

My all over moisturizer of choice has been Glossier’s Body Hero Daily Perfecting Cream. I’m so in love with this lotion and have been using it religiously along with the Oil Cleanser. I really like using it right out of the shower when my skin is still warm and damp. You have to be careful to not use too much, but combined with damp skin it just soaks in and leaves my limbs feeling silky soft all day long.

The last moisturizing pick for winter is (surprise, surprise) another Glossier item. The Priming Moisturizer has been my go-to primer to use before applying makeup. I love how lightweight it is, plus it really turns my skin into the perfect canvas for applying my favorite makeup bits.
