The Makeup Edit | April

Another month, another assortment of products in my makeup bag to share! I’ve really been loving these posts as they’re a fun way to showcase what I’ve been using, plus they push me to switch up my makeup each month so I’m not just writing about the same products (which is a rut I can easily find myself in when I get lazy with my makeup). For this month, I’ve been keeping my makeup really simple and neutral, opting for fresh, dewy skin and shimmery eyes with just a bit of warmth to the cheeks.

My April base has consisted of two old standbys that have been working quite well together to give me a healthy-looking complexion. I start off with the NYX BB Cream in Nude and apply it all over the face with a damp beauty blender. I recently picked up a fresh tube of this after not using it for quite awhile. This was one of my favorite foundations a few years ago and I’m so glad that I’ve “rediscovered” it again. To conceal, Glossier’s Stretch Concealer in Light is still my go-to. I just love how bright and refreshing it is for the under eye area, and it really gives my skin a nice glow with a great amount of coverage.

The Makeup Edit | AprilSince my skin is so freaking pale, I usually need to warm it up a bit with a bronzer or blush. This month, I’ve been obsessing over the Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Flesh & Fantasy to give a bit of warmth and definition to my cheeks. It just blends out so beautifully, and my complexion always looks incredibly healthy with a bit of this dusted across my cheeks (I’ve even been brushing a tiny bit across my nose for some added warmth). To highlight, I’ve pretty much been reaching exclusively for the Glossier Haloscope in Quartz. I love warming this up on the back of my hand and then using my fingers to dot it on the high points of my face. It just gives my skin that nice “glazed” look that I love oh so much.

I’ve been keeping my brows simple and fluffy with Boy Brow in Brown (shocker, I know). I keep meaning to use different brow products but honestly, this is all I need. Another Glossier favorite that I’ve been using are the Lidstars. I’m completely in love with these shimmery liquid eyeshadows! Lately I’ve been mixing Moon and Fawn together to create a custom champagne taupe shade and it’s all I’ve been wearing in terms of eye looks. I love that I can just pop these on with no primer, and they stay put all day long without creasing or fading away. Most days I’ll throw on a mascara to help define my eyes. I completely forgot to include it in today’s photographs, but I’ve just been using Benefit’s BADgal Bang as my everyday mascara. I’m still absolutely loving it! My lashes always look so much better when I have a full coat on, and it’s definitely one of those mascaras that I’ll apply even if I’m not wearing any other makeup because it just helps make my eyes pop.

I’ve been really into glossy lips lately, and I’ve also been super lazy with my makeup. That’s where Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb comes in. I’m so obsessed with this stuff because it works perfectly with any look, can be easily applied with or without a mirror, and feels so cushion-y and hydrating on the lips. I love that it doesn’t feel goopy on the lips at all, plus it’s so shiny that it almost gives your lips a “glassy” look.

The Haloscope is super pretty! Seems like Glossier is your to-go brand at the moment. The products you’re using are lovely, I like the eyeshadows 🙂
