I’ve found myself acquiring a bunch of new skincare bits over the past few weeks, so I’ve decided to give my skincare routine a huge overall and try out quite a few different products this month. Caring for my skin has become a huge passion of mine lately, even eclipsing my love for makeup which I didn’t think would ever be possible. I just love the joy of finding a product that makes my skin feel radiant and nourished, plus the whole practice of skincare makes wearing and applying makeup just that much easier.
If you’ve been on social media at all, I’m sure you’ve by now heard of Glossier’s newest launch, Solution. This product is one of the newest chemical exfoliants on the market, boasting an impressive mix of AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs that are supposed to thoroughly perfect the skin. I’ve been using it once a day for almost a week now and so far my skin is loving it. The dry patches that I usually struggle with are completely gone, my face has a more radiant glow to it, and the overall texture feels more smooth. I’m planning on writing a full review on this once I’ve been using it for a few more weeks, so definitely keep an eye out. Also, if you want to try this out for yourself, you can shop through my link to receive 20% off your first order + free shipping!
I placed a Sephora order with some money I got for my birthday, and it ended up being mostly skincare goodies. I finally caved and splurged on the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. I’ve yet to use it, but it smells so fresh and juicy, like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. The only downside is that the full size jar is much smaller than I would’ve thought, but hopefully this is one of those products where a little goes a long way.
I also picked up the Rise + Glow Duo from Drunk Elephant after hearing great things about the brand from Kelsey. I love that they offer little travel-size sets so you can try out their products before making a big purchase, and you get a lot of product to trial from these samples. Since my Sephora order was a little large, I was able to qualify for quite a few samples and the one I was most excited about was the Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb. I’ve been wanting to try this brand for awhile now and have been especially interested in this moisturizer. I used it for the first time yesterday morning and loved the way it left my skin feeling hydrated, refreshed, and plump without any greasy residue left behind. This is definitely a product I can see myself buying the full size version of in the near future.
Pixi recently sent me their Rose Caviar Essence* and Rose Flash Balm*, and I’m already head-over-heels in love. I first tried them out on the back of my hand the day that I received them, and then later that night as part of my skincare routine. Both times, my skin was left feeling nourished and soft, with the most beautiful rose scent lingering for several minutes afterwards. Another product I recently received is the Perfect C Serum* from MyChelle. This is supposed to be a really powerful source of Vitamin C, and my hope is that by using this alongside Glossier’s Solution, my texture issue will become completely nonexistent.
The last item is one that I’ve technically been using for a little over a month, but I still wanted to include it in this roundup as it’s still a new addition to my routine. Dr. Jart+ recently came out with a Cicapair line, and I’ve been using the Tiger Grass Cream as my nighttime moisturizer before bed. The first time I used this I was a little unsure whether or not I like it because it was such a thick cream that felt almost too heavy for my skin. After doing a little research (and actually reading the instructions on how to apply), I found out that you’re supposed to press the cream into your skin and that the warmth from your hands helps it melt in completely. Once I did this, I found that it fully absorbed and left my skin feeling completely quenched. It’s still a tad heavy for a daytime moisturizer in my opinion, but I’m absolutely loving it as part of my nightly routine.
