One thing I’m wanting to do more of lately is read. I usually go through a fair few books in autumn and then tend to…
Even though Halloween has passed, I’m still in the mood for all things creepy. I’ve been watching scary movies nonstop, but I also decided to put together a little collection of creepy reads to really put me on edge. Autumn is the perfect season for curling up with a scary book before bed, so I thought I’d share which ones are currently living on my bedside table in case anyone else is looking for a good spook as well.
If you’re new to my blog, hi. I’m Mandy, and I’m a bookworm. While most people love to celebrate summer by going on exotic trips or partying it up on the beach, I’d much rather curl up in the shade with a good book and some iced tea. With the season officially in full swing, it’s time for me to share my yearly summer reading list! I love putting these lists together each year, and this year’s is no exception.
One of my favorite things to do during the warmer months is read. Whether it’s inside with the windows open or laying out by the pool, I absolutely love having a good book to dive into and get lost in for a few hours. There’s nothing better than early mornings curled up on the couch with a few chapters and super late nights not being able to put the book down. Every summer I like to create a reading list to work my way through, but it can be a little tough finding new books that are super interesting and worth the time reading. If you find yourself in this same predicament often, here are some easy ways to find new reads you’ll actually enjoy.
This post is sponsored by Book Of The Month Club. All opinions are my own.
Subscription services are one of my favorite ways to discover new things. There are so many options out there, for everything from beauty and food to fan memorabilia and technology. Recently, I discovered a new monthly subscription called Book of the Month Club, and I was so excited to get the chance to work with them and try out their services. BOTMC is a subscription box-style book club that sends you a new book each month. As an avid reader, it can be a little difficult to find new books actually worth reading, so being part of a club that takes most of the work out of searching for worthwhile reads is so convenient!
Earlier this year I decided to switch up my diet to include more natural, plant-based meals. After watching documentaries on Netflix like Forks Over Knives and Cowspiracy, I knew I needed to make some lifestyle changes. Switching to a plant-based diet feels like the right thing to do – not only is it incredibly healthy, but it’s also better for the environment and allows me to not support big food corporations that promote animal cruelty in farms and slaughter houses. With this change comes a lot that I’ll be giving up, including several recipes and meals I would usually eat. I was kind of lost as to what I would make for regular meals (a girl can only eat so many salads), so I picked up a few new cookbooks for healthy recipes as well as some inspiration for this new lifestyle change.
I love curling up with a new book, especially during this time of year when most days are gloomy and all I want to do is stay inside wrapped in a big blanket. I got an Amazon gift card for my birthday, and decided to use most of it to get myself some new reads. Since we’re at the beginning of the year, I thought it would be a good idea to pick out a few books that would be beneficial for self development. I’m a big fan of books that promote wellness and help the reader improve their life in one way or another. The three books I chose all have something to do with personal development, and I’m excited to learn something new from each one.
