Light therapy is something that I’ve been hearing a lot about lately, and I’ve actually really been wanting to give it a try. It’s supposed to help treat acne and breakouts, and is apparently really good for allowing your skin to heal itself. The thing is, the thought of having to pay a ton of money to get treated at a dermatologists’ office just does not sound fun, especially for my wallet. Luckily, now I don’t have to thanks to Neutrogena! They recently released two different light therapy devices – the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Mask and the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment – and I’ve decided to give the spot treatment device a go to help with the random acne spots I get throughout the month.
At first, light therapy might sound a bit scary, but it’s actually quite a tame process. The way it works is light surrounds the pimple for effective, targeted treatment: blue light penetrates just beneath the surface to target acne causing bacteria, while red light goes deeper into the skin to reduce inflammation. With the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment, you have an easy-to-use, portable device that is ideal for on-the-go acne treatment, and leaves behind no mess or residue. This device treats acne and allows the skin to heal without the use of any chemicals, and comes supported with impressive clinically proven results: 98% of people tested had fewer breakouts, and experienced visible results in as little as 1 week with results improving over time.
The best part? While it can cost around $500 per treatment for light therapy at a dermatologist’s office, with the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment it only costs $0.50 a day! I can totally pay $3.50 a week (less than the cost of an iced latte) to help improve my skin and fight acne, especially from the comfort of my home.
Along with the spot treatment device, there’s also the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Mask for people who struggle with more severe breakouts all over the face. This mask is lightweight and comfortable to wear, and there’s also a viewing slot that enables multi-tasking while using so you’re able to have a relaxing treatment while still getting your to-do list checked off.
Both of the Neutrogena® Light Therapy devices can be found at your local Walmart on the skincare aisle. They should be in the section with the rest of the Neutrogena products, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for products with $10 off sticker coupons to save a little money!
I’m so excited to try out the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment and see how it works for my skin. My hope is that is will treat any problem spots that pop up without me having to use any sort of topical treatments. To really make sure I get the most out of this device, I’m following the directions to a T. It says that you must clean your face before each use, so I’ve picked up some Neutrogena cleansing products to do the job – the Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes for when I’m in a hurry, and the Fresh Foaming Cleanser to really give my skin a good clean. I’ll also be using the device for a full 30 days to see optimal results, as the instructions recommend. Fingers crossed any pimples get zapped before they can even come to a head!
Have you tried light therapy yet? Did it help treat your acne?
