I completely forgot to share this post last month, so this roundup is a mix of beauty favorites for both August and September. We’ve been in that weird transitional phase where some days you need a light jacket and other days it’s balmy shorts weather. Because of this, my beauty choices have been a little all over the place to combat the fluctuations in temperature. Here are the 5 products that really stood out to me through September (and August).
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream
Allergies have been absolutely kicking my but for the past few weeks, causing me to have horribly puffy eyes with very vivid dark circles. To combat this, I’ve been layering on as many hydrating and de-puffing products as possible. The GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream* from Origins has been an absolute life saver. It has caffeine in it to help wake the eyes up, is incredibly hydrating, and has a slight salmon pink color to it so it helps neutralize dark circles as well. I’ve been reaching for this most days, and it’s been a game changer when it comes to how tired my eyes look due to allergies and hay fever.
Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light
Along with a good eye cream, I’ve also been using hydrating concealers to cover up dark circles and giving some life back to my eyes. The best by far has been Glossier’s Stretch Concealer*. I’m completely obsessed with the stuff – it’s lightweight and feels like I’ve got nothing on, but covers up nearly everything without looking like I’ve caked a bunch of product on my face. It’s a staple to my makeup routine, and I couldn’t imagine battling hay fever eyes without it. Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne
Even though the weather has been wishy washy, it’s still autumn in my heart (and in my home). With the A/C on full blast, I’ve been wearing sweaters, lighting cozy candles, and spritzing on my signature autumn scent – Wood Sage & Sea Salt from Jo Malone. This fragrance is so cozy to me, which makes it perfect for the season. It smells like you’re walking through a forest near the ocean on a cold day, bundled up in layers and boots with a crisp chill in the air. Perfection.
Urban Decay Naked Basics 2
I recently rediscovered my Naked Basics 2 palette while having a clean out of my makeup collection, and after using it for the past few weeks have completely fallen in love with it all over again. This is such a versatile little palette, with the perfect mix of neutral shades to create looks for any occasion. The first Naked Basics palette was really great, but what made me switch to this one was the shift in colors. I’m more of a cool-toned neutrals kind of girl, and these taupes and greige shades absolutely stole my heart.
Essie Nail Polish in Bahama Mama
My final favorite for the month has been a nail shade that I’ve been wearing for the past couple weeks. I’m a huge fan of dark berry shades for fall, and Essie’s Bahama Mama has been my go-to for a vampy nail look. This is a staple shade that I think everyone should have in their nail polish collection. It looks really classy for nights out, but isn’t so dramatic that it can’t be worn with a chunky sweater and jeans.
