I’m so excited to end the month with a somewhat new feature. For the past couple months, I’ve greatly missed sharing a roundup of my beauty favorites. So, I decided to bring these posts back but with a slight twist – at the end of each month, I’ll be sharing the 5 products that really stood out to me and quickly became must-haves. For July, I have a fantastic group of beauty products that I’ve been absolutely smitten with.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
Right around the time The Ordinary was blowing up in the beauty community, I heard a rumor that their Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution was supposed to be a dupe for Pixi’s Glow Tonic. Since I’m a huge fan of Glow Tonic but wish it wasn’t quite so pricey, I knew I had to get my hands on The Ordinary’s offering. It took me a few months (this stuff is always sold out), but I was finally able to order a bottle and have been obsessed with it ever since it arrived. This toner is a chemical exfoliant that eats away at dead skin for a glowing, healthy complexion. You get so much product for less than $9, which is definitely a more wallet-friendly option.
Rimmel London #Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder
I was sent the #Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder* at the beginning of summer and had been using it off and on, but July brought a heatwave that has caused it to become one of my most-used products for the month. Rimmel has a way of constantly hitting it out of the park when it comes to mattifying powders, and this new #Insta Fix option is no different. I’ve been using it to set all of my makeup and it keeps everything in place quite nicely, and I also use it for any needed touchups throughout the day.
Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light
At the beginning of June, I got to try my first products from Glossier, and I’ve been obsessively trying more and more ever since (I even became a Glossier Rep at the start of the month, and when people shop with my link they get 20% off their first order!). One product that really stood out to me this month was the Stretch Concealer. When I first saw it online, I was worried that it wasn’t going to provide enough coverage to fully conceal my dark circles and redness. However upon trying it, I was blown away at how much it actually does cover up! This concealer blends into the skin beautifully, matching the skin tone and giving a lightweight glow to the complexion. The way it reflects light to help conceal problem areas is amazing too, and something I’m absolutely loving.
Bumble and bumble Creme de Coco Shampoo
I’ve been trying out a couple different shampoos this month, but one I keep coming back to is the Creme de Coco Shampoo from Bumble and bumble. It’s such a great all-around shampoo that gets my hair nice and clean without stripping it dry. In fact, it’s quite the opposite – my hair always feels so nourished and soft after using this shampoo, even after coloring it or being in the pool. This is the first item from Bumble and bumble that I’ve tried, and I have to say I’m rather impressed so far.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Creamy Mattes in Creme de Rose
The last beauty product that I’ve been obsessing over all month is the Creamy Matte Color Tattoo in Creme de Rose. I first picked up this shade because I had read that it was supposed to be a dupe for MAC’s Painterly Paint Pot, something I had been wanting to try but couldn’t come to terms with spending the money on. This shade was never released in the States so I had to order it from the UK, but it was well worth the wait and I’ve been in love with it ever since. It’s the prettiest nude with a slight hint of pink. I love wearing it all over the lid on days where I’m not wanting to wear a ton of makeup, and it’s also the perfect base for when I’m wanting to create a more detailed eye look.
