It dawned on me a few days ago that we’re already halfway through 2017 (what?!). With only a couple weeks left in July, I thought it would be a good idea to share a little roundup of my favorite beauty products that I’ve discovered so far this year. Even though I’ve been much stricter with my spending this year, I’ve still been able to find some new products that have really wowed, in both the skincare and makeup categories.
For skincare, my favorite discovery by far has been Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser. It is hands down the most amazing product I’ve ever used to clean my face – it’s gentle yet effective, and so nourishing for my skin. I usually struggle with redness on my forehead and cheeks due to my skin being sensitive, and this cleanser has been one of the only things that can calm it. Such a miracle product! If you’ve been wanting to try anything from Glossier, you can use my link to get 20% off your first order (also, they’re currently offering free shipping when you purchase 2 or more items, and sets totally count as well!). Another miracle worker for me has been the Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer*. This stuff is incredible! If you’re like me and absolutely despise moisturizer that leaves your face feeling greasy, then you’ll love this offering from Origins. It absorbs almost instantly into the skin, and leaves your skin feeling fully hydrated and awake, making it perfect for your morning routine before applying makeup. My last skincare find for the year so far has been the Lanolips Rose Hand Cream. This is such a dreamy product for the hands, and has completely transformed mine (which are usually on the dry side). The cool thing that sets this hand cream apart from others for me is how it envelopes the skin in an almost protective layer – you can literally feel a light layer of hydration on your hands for the first few minutes after applying it. Oh, and did I mention the light scent of roses? It’s delightful.
I already have quite a few makeup favorites for the year, and we still have 5 months to go! Too Faced has really made an impression on me, and I’ve got two products from the brand that I’m absolutely in love with. First is their Hangover Primer, which I picked up after seeing it on several of my favorite beauty blogs. If you’ve got dry or dull skin, this primer is an absolute dream! It’s incredibly nourishing, and gives the skin a refreshing burst of hydration while also priming it for makeup application. The other Too Faced product I’ve been loving is the Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Oils. I’ve got two shades – Peach, Please! and Peach Tease – and both have become fast favorites. They’re creamy, nourishing, glossy, and surprisingly long-lasting for a lip gloss. I’ve been loving these for the summer because the colors are bright and fun without being too bold. On days when I’ve wanted more of a neutral lip, I’ve been reaching for the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Nude*. I’ve always been a huge fan of these lip treatments, but this Nude shade has quickly made it to the top of my list. It’s such an easy color to wear, and really suits every look I throw together.
ColourPop is a brand that I’ve been a fan of since last year, but their Pressed Eyeshadows are on a whole other level and have quickly turned me into a super fan. They have so many colors and finishes to choose from, and the color payoff of these shadows is incredible. I ended up purchasing one of their empty magnetic palettes to store the little pans I’ve collected this year, and almost have it completely filled (I’m planning on doing a “what’s in my palette” post once it is). The best part? These eyeshadow pans are only $4 each! It’s crazy that you can get such high quality for so little money, which makes me love ColourPop even more. My final makeup favorite for the year so far is the Haloscope Highlighter in Quartz from Glossier. Yes, another Glossier favorite! I seriously cannot get enough of this brand. They’re truly incredible! This highlighter has been essential for me to get that dewy “almost wet” glow that I love so much. Also, the shade is super flattering and can be worn with a full face of makeup or just by itself for a fresh faced look.
