Being a beauty obsessive means there’s a whole lot of trial and error to find the perfect products. You might hear great things about a certain item, only to try it and dislike it yourself. One beauty category that I find this to be especially true is with skincare. Over the years, I’ve tested out all kinds of products from an array of different skincare brands. While this has led to some disappointing purchases (and unfortunate breakouts), I’ve been able to discover brands that deliver on all of their promises time and time again.
Jurlique is a brand I’ve had a bit of a love affair with for the past couple years. All of their products that I’ve tried have been absolutely luxurious for my skin, nurturing it and giving it a fresh boost of health. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you’ve probably seen me mention their Rosewater Balancing Mist*. It’s my absolute favorite face mist because it treats my skin so nicely and helps calm any redness on my face. Another gem of their’s that I’ve discovered is the Balancing Day Care Cream*. This is super hydrating and rich moisturizer, making it the perfect thing to help get rid of any winter dryness.
I am a huge fan of Origins and their amazing skincare products. I first found out about them through a couple beauty gurus on Youtube, and ever since I tried them I’ve been hooked. Origins is a great brand to try out if you’re first diving into higher end skincare. I’m a total Checks And Balances fan girl, and think it’s one of the best cleansers on the market. It works for every skin type – balancing out dry patches by adding moisture and gently removing any excess oil from overly greasy areas. They have an incredible array of face masks (try their Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay if you have any problems with dull, dry skin!) and the GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer* is an absolute must for every skincare routine. I just started using it a couple weeks ago and guess what? It’s amazing.
If you’re looking for a more affordable skincare brand that won’t waste your time (or money), definitely check out Mario Badescu. You can check out their stuff in Ulta, but if you don’t have one they also have a shop online. I first tried this brand about 3 years ago, starting with the Seaweed Cleansing Soap which worked amazingly for my sensitive skin, as well as the Facial Spray with Rosewater and Herbs and Special Cucumber Lotion. I pretty much bought enough products for an entire skincare routine, and was not disappointed with a single product. They just recently released a new Facial Spray with Cucumber and Green Tea, and it’s just as heavenly as their rosewater option (and will definitely become a staple this summer).
The final skincare brand i have to sing praises about is Aesop. While I haven’t tried all of their products yet, I have sampled a few of their masks and have been blown away by the results. In fact, I loved the Parsley Seed Masque so much that I had to buy the full size, and it’s been a staple to my skincare routine ever since. The ingredients Aesop uses are so good, and you can tell they’ve been well thought out and researched. The Parsley Seed Masque is my go-to for when my skin is being fussy with breakouts and clogged pores. I want to get the Blue Chamomile Facial Hydrating Masque next because the sample I tried was incredible and sadly I’ve run out.
What are your go-to beauty brands that never disappoint?
