Skincare Heroes That Have Recently Saved The Day

With combination skin like mine, it means there’s never a dull moment when it comes to my skincare routine. One day there’s hormonal breakouts, the next it’s itchy, dry patches, and a week later I’m struggling with redness, so I’m constantly rotating different items in my arsenal to alleviate the skin woes I battle each month. I’ve recently discovered some new faves that have completely saved the day whether it’s been the odd breakout or a severe case of dullness.

I often wear a lot of matte lip products in the winter, which can be a pain in the butt to remove if you don’t have the proper cleansers. I’ve been using Farmacy’s Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm* for the past week and am so in love with how well it’s been working. Cleansing balms are fantastic for this time of year because they’re incredibly nourishing for the skin and leave you feeling nice and soft. This one works wonders at melting away makeup too – even a full face can be cleansed in just seconds.

Breakouts are something that I thankfully don’t deal with every single day, but they do flair up at annoying times throughout the month. I recently partnered up with Zapzyt on a post, and ever since I’ve been obsessed with their Acne Treatment Gel*. This works so incredibly well at zapping away any problem zits fast, and I love that I don’t even have to change up my skincare routine in order to incorporate this. The gel is water based and doesn’t contain alcohol like competitive products (which only irritates and adds to the redness of the already red/inflamed zit area). If you suffer from the odd problem zit, I definitely suggest giving this product a try.

A product that has really been helping my skin with dullness is I Dew Care’s Disco Kitten Mask. This peel-off mask not only helps get rid of dead skin and impurities, but it’s also a blast to use. It applies pearly white and dries to a metallic silver. Basically, it’s a quick way to make yourself look like a disco ball, plus you get the added bonus of super soft skin. If you end up trying this mask, my tip is to use a silicone brush because it makes application so much easier.

To help with moisture, I’ve been using two products together that have been working rather perfectly with my skin. First is the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner* – an extremely hydrating toner that refreshes the skin while still being very gentle. After letting that soak into the skin, I then use Nerd Skincare’s Nourishing Cream* to add a healing layer of hydration to my face. This cream is one of the best I’ve ever used, and I don’t say that lightly. I’m very picky with my moisturizers. If they leave a weird residue on my skin, don’t fully absorb, leave me feeling greasy, or are overly scented, they get a major “no” from me. This cream is none of the above, and has quickly become one of my favorites in my collection.
