While this is the season of berry hues and festive golds, I tend to stick with nude shades for my nails. Not only are they easy to wear, but they fit in rather nicely with A/W colors and make for a quick manicure, which works for me since I tend to be so busy during this time of year and can’t spend too much time on mani maintenance. Today, I thought I’d share my top 5 nude polishes from Essie (my favorite nail care brand) for any of you looking to change up your nail look or add a few new bottles to your collection.
Starting lightest to darkest, my go-to white shade will forever be Essie’s Blanc. I’m a huge fan of this shade because it actually looks like a nice nail polish rather than looking flat or like I painted my nails using white-out (anyone else do that when they were bored in middle school?). Blanc has a good glossy look to it, making it easy to wear on it’s own or jazzed up with some glitter or nail art on top.
For a feminine pinky nude that’s milky and soft, I always reach for Essie’s Ballet Slippers. The name is perfect – it’s dainty, graceful, and light. This is one of those “your nails but better” shades, and it’s what I usually wear when I don’t really want a specific color on my nails or when I’m just coming off of a dark manicure (I’m looking at you, Bahama Mama). Again, this is a very glossy polish that looks quite milky and gentle on the nails.
A color that works perfectly no matter what season is definitely Sand Tropez. This sandy beige cream is stunning on everyone, no matter your nail shape, length, or skin color. It’s one of those shades that instantly makes you look polished and put together, and works whether you’re spending all day at the office or taking a weekend vacation with your special someone.
My current favorite nude shade goes to Essie’s Lady Like. This is a little bit of a deeper pink than Ballet Slippers, but still works quite nicely as a neutral shade. I’ve had it on my nails on repeat for the past few weeks, and am having to force myself to choose a different polish for a little while just for a change of pace. I feel like Ladylike is a more feminine version of Sand Tropez, and would be so beautiful for a wedding mani.
The final nude shade to make it into my top 5 is none other than Essie’s Chinchilly. I’ve been a huge fan of this nail color for years, so I’m sure it’s not a huge surprise that its made it’s way into this roundup. This is definitely more of an A/W shade, but I feel the muted mauve-greige color definitely makes it a nude rather than a bold berry shade. This color is perfect if you’re wanting something a bit seasonal that’s still neutral and soft.
