Autumn will forever be my favorite season for experimenting with style. There are so many different ways you can play around with your look during this time of year, whether it’s with makeup, clothing, hair, or accessories. Since the weather is nice and chilly, you can get away with layering clothing and accessories to create cozy outfits, plus the colors of the season make some great inspiration for your own color palette. If you’re unsure how to update your look for the season, here are four easy ways I like to do so each time fall comes around.
Here’s the aisle where you can find the Schwarzkopf hair colors in your local Walmart
Probably the easiest way to update your look is by dyeing your hair a fresh color. All it takes is an hour or two, but the new shade will make it look like you’ve spent a ton of time (and money) to make yourself over. While you can go to a salon and do just that, I prefer coloring my hair at home. Not only is it more friendly on the wallet, but it allows me to get my hair done in my own time and in the comfort or my own home, which I much prefer.
My hair color brand of choice is always
, and this time around I used their
dye in the shade 1.1 Ebony Black for a glossy raven mane. I absolutely love how well Schwarzkopf’s colors treat my hair. I know I can always count on their dyes for an easy at-home hair makeover with colors that are true to the box, long-lasting results, and
plenty of shades
to choose from to satisfy my hair needs all year long. Coloroing your hair at home with Schwarzkopf is as easy as following these steps:
How to Color Your Hair at Home
- Put on the gloves and apply the pretreatment to your hair.
- Mix the developer and creme according to the instructions and then do a patch test on your skin.
- Apply the solution all over your hair, making sure every strand is saturated.
- Leave the color in for 20-30 minutes, depending on desired results. Check the color after 20 minutes, and every 5 minutes after that.
- Rinse, shampoo and condition.

I also love these dyes because they’re so nice on the hair and incredibly easy to use (just make sure to use gloves and follow all of the safety instructions and you’ll have a super easy application). The color always lasts ages, and my strands actually feel incredibly healthy after dyeing them which is a huge change from other dyes I’ve tried in the past.
If you’ve been thinking about trying the Schwarzkopf hair dyes for yourself, here’s a rebate offer to try it free! Also, you can earn up to $5 on Ibotta when you purchase any shade of Schwarzkopf Color Ultime, so now’s definitely the time to shop.
Another easy way to update your look for fall is by adding some seasonal staples to your wardrobe. Things like chunky knit sweaters, quality denim jeans, basics for layering, and a classic trench coat are all great options that will not only update your closet but also never go out of style so you won’t have to keep buying a whole new wardrobe each year. Since I’m a beauty blogger, it probably comes as no surprise that makeup is one area that I absolutely love updating once the autumn season arrives. I’ve already shared a post on how to update your makeup bag for fall, but you don’t have to stop there. This is a great season to add some new goodies to your makeup collection since so many shops are having sales for the holidays. My advice is to read/watch some reviews before buying anything just to ensure you’re less likely to have buyer’s remorse.
The last style area that I like updating for the season is accessories. This is usually a cheaper way to spruce up your closet if you don’t have the money to buy new clothing, and you’d be surprised what a few key accessories can do to a usually plain outfit. For fall, I love accessories like blanket scarves, knitted mittens, chunky neck warmers, ankle boots, and long necklaces (these are great worn alone or layers together). Again, Pinterest is a great place to get some ideas as to how you can easily accessorize for the season, but also remember to just have fun with it and experiment to find new looks you love.
