A New Way To Eat Fresh (+ a giveaway!)

One of my goals for the year has been to eat healthier meals and to cook more often. Busy schedules and lack of preparation have made this a little difficult, but luckily I’ve been able to find a solution that has really been helpful, not just for me but also for my little fur babies. Freshpet is teaming up with HelloFresh, the meal kit delivery service that puts the fun back in cooking, to bring the power of fresh food to you and your pet for the next 30 days. The #FreshWithYourPet Meal Plan is a way to change your perception of how easy it is to cook delicious and easy meals at home, but also bring the same benefits of a fresh and well-balanced diet to your pet. I’ve always wanted to try a meal subscription box, and this one turned out even better than I expected!

My first box arrived with 3 delicious meals all packaged and ready to be cooked. Everything for each meal was separated into different meal bags, and there were instruction cards along with pictures included to help make the cooking process as easy as possible. While anyone can deliver a box of food, HelloFresh opens up an experience that goes beyond the final plate and brings the fun of cooking back into people’s lives.

I decided to go with the Sesame Beef Tacos for my first dinner. Upon opening the meal bag, I saw that all of the ingredients were perfecting portioned out, including things like the oils, herbs, and spices. Because of this, meal prep was extremely easy and I was able to cook the entire dish in about 30 minutes.

The instructions were extremely easy to follow. The provided card included step-by-step photos, so I was able to follow along with the cooking instructions with ease. While the ingredients were easy to work with, I still felt like a seasoned chef in the kitchen, and the resulting meal was beyond my expectations!

These tacos turned out amazing! They were delicious and full flavored, while still remaining fresh and crisp. Usually when we make tacos, they’re just meat, cheese, sour cream, and some pico de gallo – tasty but nothing special. These tacos were a complete 180 from the usual. They were so full of fresh veggies and spices, it was like eating out at a fancy restaurant but from the comfort of my home.

As part of the #FreshWithYourPet meal plan, my box also included delicious meals and treats for my dogs. We got a variety of meals for them to enjoy, from chopped dinners to smooth pâté’s. For their first meal, I decided to go with the Freshpet Select Home Cooked Chicken Recipe because it looked so much better than their regular dry food and I was really excited for them to have such a fresh dinner.

As you can see, they were super excited to get at their meal. Just a few sniffs and Roxie was ready to stick her whole head into the bag, haha. Once plated, their new food looked extremely delicious, and it was hard to tell the difference between it and human food. Freshpet is real, all-natural pet food, fresh from the fridge. They never use any pre-processed meat powders, “chicken meals,” or by-products – just real US meat as the #1 ingredient, and real veggies you can see. It’s the next best thing to a home cooked meal!

These girls absolutely loved their new dinner from Freshpet! About halfway through, they got so excited that they switched plates and finished each others meals. It was such a blissful few minutes, and as soon as they were done they went running around looking for more.
