My Autumn Makeup Picks

I’m so excited because we’re only 10 days away from the official start of autumn. I know every blogger proclaims their love for this season, but how can you not? I don’t think there’s much better than snuggly sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, crisp weather, and changing leaves. This is also my favorite season for beauty because I get to start wearing dark colors and full coverage bases again. Since fall is about to be in full swing, I thought I would share all of my favorite makeup picks for the season.

For the face, I love using the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation for a luminous complexion. This foundation gives a great amount of coverage while still making your skin look glowy and light. My concealer of choice for this season is another NARS product – the Radiant Creamy Concealer. This stuff is so powerful, and can cover up any blemish or dark spot. Because it’s so pigmented, a little bit goes a long way. Together, these two create a flawless base that’s both full coverage and light.

Highlight & Contour

I definitely love a good contour for fall. The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow is everything you need in one palette – a gorgeous highlighter that gives an intense sheen to the skin, plus a bronzer that’s easy to blend out and doesn’t look muddy or orange. If you’re looking for something cheaper that still packs a punch, I highly suggest Colourpop’s Highlighter in Spoon and the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour. I’m quite in love with both of these, and together they give a super sculpted look.

For autumn cheek colors, I’m all about that dirty mauve look. My favorite is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure because it just makes your skin look so good. A few other blushes I’ll be reaching for this season are MAC’s Blushbaby, Tarte’s new blush in Seduce, and Clinique’s Chubby Stick Cheek Balm in Plumped Up Peony*. I also like to rock a nude blush every so often, and for that I’ll either be using H&M’s Blush in Brown Sugar or the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love.

When it comes to autumn eye looks, I love just a simple wash of color…maybe a hint of a darker shade in the outer V if I’m feeling crazy. I really love the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows because they give a nice sheen to the lids but aren’t super metallic. My two favorite colors are Iced Latte and Amber Rush, and they look amazing alone but could definitely be layered together for a cute effect. I’m all about big lashes this season (and every season, who am I kidding?). I discovered Clinique’s Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara* at the beginning of the year, and have adored it ever since. It gives big lashes without causing a mess, which I love.

The fall season means I get to wear my two favorite lip shades – nude pink and plum mauve – practically to death. I’m on a bit of a liquid lipstick kick lately, so I’ll definitely be using The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina, as well as Kylie Cosmetics’ Dolce K and Lime Crime’s Velvetine in Cashmere. On the days when I want something a bit lighter and more hydrating, I’ll reach for Clinique’s Pop Lip Colour in Plum Pop and MAC’s Lipstick in Plumful (both gorgeous plum shades that are bit sheer and glossy).

Do-It-All Products

Though I love autumn for all of the makeup possibilities, I don’t necessarily want to carry around all of the extra items in my makeup bag. That’s where these next products come in handy. First is Tarte’s Rainforest After Dark Palette, which is definitely the palette I’d pick if I could only use one thing this season. It’s everything you need all in one compact – 3 purple eyeshadows, 3 gold eyeshadows, a gorgeous mauve blush, a shimmery highlighter, and a neutral toned bronzer. Another amazing do-it-all product that was recently released would be the Bite Beauty Multi Sticks*. These come in a great collection of shades, and literally can be used for anything – eyeshadow, blush, contour, lipstick – you name it! I’m currently obsessed with the shade “Macaroon“, and think it’s the perfect dirty rose color for the season.
