Whenever a new beauty tool is released, I’m always super excited to try it. When I got contacted to test out the new HiMirror Smart Mirror*, I jumped at the chance because this device sounded almost too good to be true. In simple terms, it’s a large beauty mirror with a built-in skin care consultant. Sounds ridiculously cool, right? Upon receiving the mirror and playing around with it for a while, I discovered that it can actually do so much more.
The mirror arrived packaged in an extremely sturdy and well designed box (it felt like I was opening a piece of equipment from Apple or Amazon – very snazzy). I let out a little squeal of excitement when I opened the box because the detailing on the mirror is all in rose gold and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The mirror itself is nice and hefty, and doesn’t feel like it’s made of cheap materials. In terms of overall design, it is very sleek, with a tall yet thinner shape so it doesn’t take up too much room. The packaging also came with everything you need to attach it to your wall or bathroom mirror, which I found extremely helpful.
Setup of the HiMirror was incredibly easy for me. All I had to do was plug it in, download an app, connect the mirror to my internet, and fill out a super quick questionnaire (just simple questions about my skin and lifestyle). Once I had done that, the mirror was ready for use and I began exploring away.
The first thing I did was a skincare consultation. The HiMirror has an HD camera built in to take extremely detailed photos of your face so it can detect any imperfections with your skin. This process was super simple with the help of a quick step-by-step walkthrough, and once my picture was taken the mirror started analyzing my skin (the more photos taken over time, the better the analysis). Right away, the mirror could pick up on the bit of rosacea on my cheeks and forehead, and began giving tips on how to soothe any irritations. It felt like I was working with my own personal dermatologist and at-home beauty consultant, which was so amazing.
Besides helping with your skin, the HiMirror has so many other helpful features. It has a motion sensor on the front, and just walking past it pops up a screen with the date, time, and weather. You can get news updates and links to interesting stories. One of my favorite things is that you can utilize the app and mirror to store a database of all of your skincare and beauty products, and it will actually recommend certain products you currently own based on the analysis updates for your skin. It’s truly innovative, and one beauty tool that I’m predicting everyone will own in the coming months.
Is the HiMirror something you would be interested in using for your beauty routine?
