15 Things To Do To Prep For The New Year

Can you believe 2017 is almost here? This year has been incredibly crazy and full of so many changes, and I have to say I’m ready to put 2016 to rest. For the past week, I’ve been working on preparing for the new year. I love this time because it allows for a fresh, new start, and I always get so excited about what the next year will bring. I thought it would be a good idea to share some things you can do to start 2017 off with a bang, for all of you who are in the same “new year, new start” mindset that I am.

15 Things To Do To Prep For The New Year

  • Acquire a new planner, or clean out the one you’re currently using
  • Pick up a fresh journal for the year
  • If you’re a religious person, this is a great time to invest in a new Bible study or daily devotional
  • Make a list of the big goals you’d like to achieve in the new year, and come up with small steps to achieve each goal
  • Get as much of January planned out as possible so you can start the year out ahead
  • If you’ve been wanting to try out a new hobby, now’s the best time to commit to it (also, don’t forget to get any tools/supplies/memberships you may need)
  • Do a quick declutter of every room in your house (especially any closets, bookcases, and desks)
  • After decluttering and donating anything you no longer need, have a quick clean up of your house so you can start the year with a fresh, non-stressful space
  • If you haven’t yet, go ahead and get your Christmas decorations taken down and packed away
  • Dust off your workout gear, and find a fun new fitness routine to jump into
  • Clean up your inbox and get caught up on emails so you don’t have that daunting task weighing on your shoulders
  • For a real refreshing start, think about rearranging your rooms or redecorating
  • Make a list of new things you want to try during the year
  • Get a fresh new haircut
  • Wrap up any loose ends so you can go into the new year with a brand new start
