2016 is really flying by. I still feel like it’s only March or April, but it dawned on me the other day that we’re just weeks away from autumn, the holidays, and pumpkin spice latte season. Where is all of the time going?! As I was reflecting over everything from the past several months, it got me thinking about all of my goals for the year. It can be easy to lose sight of what goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year once a lot of time has passed, so I thought I would take today to revisit those goals and put a new focus on the ones I’ve yet to accomplish.
In terms of personal goals, I feel like I had a good start but still have a ways to go. I’ve fallen back into the mindset of “work work work!”, so doing things like trying new hobbies and dedicating my mornings to Bible studies have been put on the back burner. I’ve been doing really well with budgeting my finances though, and have been regularly pushing myself out of my comfort zone (earlier this year, I finally got baptized and signed up to become a door greeter at my church). I’ve been going to church more regularly (but really need to work on making it an every week sort of thing). I’ve also been trying to eat healthier and get more exercise – some days are good, and some not so much. I’m finding that, instead of going from one extreme to the other, focusing on making good choices and practicing moderation works much better for me. Also, I love food. This is hard.
As far as business/blogging goals go, I’ve been fairly on track. As you guys know, I quit my job and started blogging full time in March. This was probably my biggest goal for the year, and to have accomplished it is a dream come true. I’ve gotten back into the habit of blogging daily (with the odd day off every now and then), and I’m honestly so happy because I had really missed it. My YouTube channel recently had a little reboot, and I’m back to making weekly videos. The next big thing I’m working on is creating a blog shop full of digital goodies for bloggers, like stock photo packs, ebooks, video courses, coaching classes, and more. This is the biggest project I’ve ever taken on, and I’m pouring every bit of my love for blogging into it so I really hope it proves to be helpful for other bloggers.
How are you doing with the goals you made for the year?
