Summer Blushin’

Summer Blushing' | A Girl, Obsessed

A good coral blush is a must-have for summer, and I’ve got a few that I love using for different looks. For my everyday makeup, Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy has been working perfectly. It’s a matte coral blush that leans a little more on the pink side. For days that I want a dewy, sun kissed glow, I’ll use Clinique’s Cheek Pop Blush in Ginger Pop. This one is more of a true coral color, and has a really nice sheen to it. I love how buttery smooth these blushes are and really need to pick up a few other shades.

If I’m just wanting a hint of color on my cheeks, I’ll use some of Clinique’s Chubby Stick Cheek Balm in Robust Rhubarb* blended out with my fingers. Summer is usually too humid for me to wear cream blushes because they tend to melt right off, but these balms act more like a hydrating stain. Just a little swipe on each cheek and you’ve got a natural-looking flush of peachy-coral color. If you’ve never used a cheek balm before, I highly suggest these ones because they are so high quality and easy to use.

When I’m not rocking a coral cheek, I tend to bounce back and forth between a neutral bronzy shade and a pop of hot pink. H&M’s makeup range is really impressing me, and I’m quite fond of their blushes. I love the shade Brown Sugar for neutral makeup that is still summer appropriate. It helps give your cheeks a bit of definition as well, which I really like. My current hot berry/pink favorite is ColourPop’s Blush in Pegacorn. This magical little blush combines two of my favorite things – pinky purple color and a touch of shimmer. It looks a little intimidating in the packaging, but when blended out on your cheeks, it creates the most beautiful berry pink flush.

Are you a summer blush person? Which colors and products are your favorite?
