STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST BY AUSTIN KLEON
Steal Like An Artist was one of the first books I ever read that had such a unique outlook on creativity. I usually flip through it once every year, and each time I read it I learn something new. Austin gives great advice on how to be a creative and come up with your own take on things without ripping off other artists. I think this is a must read for everyone, whether you’re a designer, creator, blogger, or business owner.
This is a book I picked up last year after seeing it on several of my favorite blogs. I’d not heard of Paul Arden until reading this book, but I’m absolutely obsessed with his teachings. This book gives all kinds of business and life advice to propel you to achieving your best. Paul’s advice is very straightforward and makes so much sense, so you’re left thinking “duh!” after this quick read. I’ve just ordered his followup book, Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite, and I can’t wait to pour through it once it arrives.
I first found Lara on Instagram and was instantly attracted to her bright photos and positive outlook on life. It was a little while later that I saw she was writing a book about letting go of fear and living a purposeful life, and knew I had to give it a read. Lara has such a sweet soul, and you can really feel her love for life come through in her book. Every page is full of encouragement and practical ways to stop living with fear, and live life to the fullest instead.
This book took the blogging community by storm a couple years ago when it came out, and it’s been a regular read for many of us ever since. It may not be full of must-know business information, but I think the appeal of this book is more about the story Sophia tells. It’s so refreshing (and inspiring) to hear how Sophia started her multi-million dollar business all by herself with nothing more that some street smarts, a love for hard work, and a strong will to learn and grow. As a #girlboss myself, it’s so cool to see someone else succeed in following their dreams.
Gala is a pure ray of sunshine, and if you’re not regularly reading her blog, you need to be. Her concept of radical self love is one I can totally get behind, and this it’s so important for us, both as bloggers and as women, to embrace who we are every single day. Gala has been through all sorts of hardships in life, so she speaks from experience when giving advice on how to live the life of your dreams.
