To start off with, I have a product that you guys might remember me talking about in one of my last videos. It’s the Garnier SkinActive Waterproof Micellar Cleansing Water, and I was not completely sold on it at the time. However, after battling with a few products last week that were particularly clingy (namely, a waterproof mascara and some liquid lipsticks), this micellar water totally came to the rescue. None of my other makeup removers could get some of these products off, not even my beloved Bioderma (I know, I’m devastated). The only thing that worked was this micellar water, and it’s now one of my favorites. It does require a little more scrubbing that Bioderma, but it removes some of the toughest products I’ve ever used so I really don’t mind.
Anese gets another mention in this roundup because I honestly cannot stop using their body elixir. Smells Like Queen Spirit* is just so freaking good. It’s a light scent of orange blossom and vanilla, and is made with natural ingredients so it’s really good for the skin. On the bottle it says you can use it to freshen up your hair (like if you’re around cigarette smoke), so of course I douse myself in it all throughout the day. If you haven’t checked out this brand yet, you definitely need to. They’re an indie company that recently started up, and their products are made with really great ingredients.
My hands and feet have needed a lot of extra attention this month, so I’ve been using Soap & Glory’s Heel Genius and Josie Maran’s Whipped Argan Oil Hand Cream in Sweet Citrus* to give them added moisture. Heel Genius works absolute miracles, and I highly recommend it for anyone that has issues with dry, cracked heels. It’s been my favorite thing to use right out of the shower with a pair of big squishy socks. The Josie Maran hand cream is super rich and takes a couple minutes to fully soak in, but once it does your hands feel so silky soft. I like using this before bed, that way I wake up to smooth hands and cuticles.
A new skincare goodie that I discovered this month was the RoC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream*. I picked this out after reading an article about how retinol eye creams are supposed to help with dark circles because they create an increase in melanin, which is supposed to dark circles less noticeable. After using this for a few weeks, I have definitely noticed that my under eye area looks brighter and less purple, as well as it feeling more hydrated. This is the first thing I’ve tried from this brand, so I’m definitely looking forward to what else they have to offer.
For makeup, these two products have not left my side all month. Stila’s All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten has been my go-to eyeshadow for the past few weeks. The peachy gold shade looks amazing all over the lids, and you don’t need anything else to go with it but some mascara. My lips aren’t quite ready to let go of winter dryness just yet, so the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose has bee a must. It gives your lips this perfect “juicy” look to them, plus it’s hydrating beyond reason. A pop of this on my lips and I don’t have to worry about dry patches all day.
