A classic champagne eyeshadow is my go-to most days – it’s simple and effortlessly chic, and there’s just something about that shimmery vanilla shade that steals my heart. Over the past few months, I’ve come up with a nice little collection of champagne shades from several different brands, so I thought I would give my thoughts on each one in case some of you are looking to pick one up for yourselves.
Maybelline Color Tattoos, particularly the shade Barely Branded (pictured fourth from the left). This is a cream shadow that offers a beautiful color that reminds me of white gold. It’s soft and not overly shimmery, so it’s good base shade for your eyes. L’Oreal’s Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte is a loosely-pressed powder shadow that is incredibly metallic and absolutely stunning paired with a cat eye. This is one of those shadows that looks best when applied with your finger, so keep that in mind.
If you’re looking for something a little more high-end, I have three fantastic recommendations for you. First is MAC’s Eyeshadow in Shroom, which was one I picked up after hearing Rebecca rave about it. MAC has really nice eyeshadows – they’re super creamy and blend really well, and Shroom is the softest champagne shade with just a hint of pink (currently my favorite for highlighting the inner corners and brow bones). Another favorite is The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer, which just so happens to be the very first champagne shade I’ve ever owned. It’s more gold-toned than the others, but I love it because it’s so shimmery and bounces the light off your eyelids really well.
Finally, we have Stila’s All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten. This is a relatively new addition to my collection, and I’ve fallen for it rather quickly. You get two shades in one compact – a pearly pink champagne and a warm-toned peachy gold. You can either use the colors by themselves or together, depending on the type of look you’re going for. I’ve had it in my makeup bag all month, and it’s been so easy to pop some on for a bit of color and highlight to my eyes.
