Beauty Tryouts #5

Lime Crime’s Velvetine Liquid-To-Matte Lipstick in Cashmere, which is the only true greige lip color I’ve been able to find so far. I also had the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks recommended to me, so I chose the one in Lolita. From the swatches I’ve seen, it looks like it’s going to be a really pretty dusty rose shade that I’m hoping will work for everyday looks.

Brooke is totally to blame for this next purchase. I tweeted about having a gift card to Sephora and she immediately talked me into buying the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette (she even sent me swatches canyoubelieveit). After seeing her swatches, I knew I had to get it right away. After being so disappointed by the small size of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit (so much so that I had to return it, which I’ve never done before), I kept my expectations low in case of another disappointment. I was blown away by this palette as soon as I received it – the quality is fantastic, the cheek colors look amazing in person, and you get so much product for the price.

I picked up a few skincare products that had been on my wish list for a really long time. The first thing is the Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm. This is one of the earliest products that I can remember wanting thanks to beauty blogs. It’s been raved about by so many of my favorite bloggers, so I’m really excited to start using it. Another skincare treat is the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil, which I’ve been wanting ever since seeing Kate rave about it’s benefits. Using face oils in the past have always worked well, so I can’t wait to give this a go.

As a lover of hand cream, it’s not a surprise that I’m trying out another new one. The Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream in Sweet Citrus* combines two of my favorite things – argan oil and the delicious scent of citrus. This should be a good one because argan oil always does wonderful things for my dry skin, especially in the winter. My final beauty newbie is this Party Queen Tapered Blush Brush*. I’m a huge fan of tapered makeup brushes because they always work so well for blush and highlighters, so I was super excited to get the chance to try this one out. It’s a really dense. fluffy brush, and I imagine it’s going to blend out powders like a dream.

Are you trying any new beauty bits this month?
