January Beauty Favorites

Beauty Tryouts post. The Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette is my new must-have for my makeup bag. I’ve been using it for most of the month and it is just so versatile. I love that I only need to use just one eyeshadow for daytime looks, but then there’s also darker colors if I want something a little more defined or dramatic. Plus, it’s compact and literally takes up no room in my makeup bag.

After all of the H&M blush hype, I picked up one in the shade Brown Sugar and have been addicted to it all month. It’s the prettiest neutral blush shade, blends out beautifully, and looks so flattering with every makeup look. I really love pairing it with my next favorite, Maybelline’s The Buffs Lipstick in Nude Lust. This has currently been my go-to lip color for a nude lip look. I’m always such a big fan of Maybelline’s lipsticks because their so creamy and have fantastic color payoff.

I’ve been on a bit of a lip plumping kick, and Buxom’s Full-On Lip Polish in Julie has been seriously paying off. It’s a gorgeous, sheer watermelon pink that’s super glossy and has become a favorite for minimal makeup days (paired with some concealer and mascara, it’s the prettiest look). As far as lip plumping, I definitely notice a difference when I wear it. There’s a tingling sensation when you apply it but it’s not uncomfortable at all, and your lips just look more plump and full – nothing Kylie Jenner-worthy, but definitely an improvement.

For skincare, I’ve got two new favorites that are now part of my regular routine. First up is Soap & Glory’s Heel Genius, which a bunch of your suggested to me and oh my gosh you all were so right. This stuff has been working a little miracle for my feet, which usually have a rough time staying smooth and hydrated in the cold winter weather. I apply it before bed, put on a big pair of fluffy socks, and when I wake up in the morning my feet feel incredible. A new toner I’ve been crushing on is the Isabel Fay CoQ10 Toner*. I’ve been trying to use really gentle products on my face this month, and this has been such a nice discovery. I’ve noticed that my pores look clearer, and my overall complexion appears much brighter.

My final beauty favorite for January is one I’ve mentioned before, but I have to talk about it again because it’s so incredibly good. The Anese Body + Hair Elixir in Smells Like Queen Spirit* has been my daily scent for the past few weeks. I love how versatile this spray is – it’s a fragrance, but it’s also a hydrating elixir. You can spray it on your body, on your clothes, in your hair…wherever you want to scent and refresh. I’ll spritz this on my neck and in my hair when I first wake up and any time throughout the day when I want a little pick-me-up. The scent combo (orange blossom + vanilla) is absolutely delicious and such an uplifting everyday fragrance. Don’t forget, you can use code mandyanese to get $5 off your purchase!

What are your beauty faves for the month?
