Beauty Tryouts #5

H&M Powder Blush after seeing so many of my favorite bloggers rave about them. I chose the color Brown Sugar in the hopes that it would be a dupe for a blush I used to use years ago. I’m already head-over-heels for the packaging – reminds me of Bobbi Brown or Chanel. I’ve yet to use it (or any other products in this post) because I wanted it to look pretty for photos, so I’m really looking forward to giving it a try.

Another product I picked up due to hearing about it from several bloggers is the Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette*. I’d had my eye on this palette for awhile, and was on the fence until a blog friend recommend that it was definitely worth the splurge. Having seen it in person now, I definitely agree. It contains so many colors in one palette, so you don’t have to carry as many separate products in your makeup bag (plus it includes a pretty large mirror so no need for a compact). Pixi has recently added a bunch of new products to their Skintreats line and I’m really excited about giving them a go. I’ve got the Glow Mud Cleanser* and Glow Mud Mask*, and both sound absolutely lovely. I’m hoping that they’ll work well with my gentle skin – the descriptions for both say that they’re supposed to be gentle and balancing, so fingers crossed.

Kate raved about the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight in her Vlogmas videos, so of course I had to pick it up. She mentioned that it was the product responsible for her glowing skin, and during each video I kept wondering how I could get my skin to look as good as hers, haha. I did swatch a bit of this when it arrived in the mail, and ohmygosh. It’s magical. I finally picked up Soap & Glory’s Heel Genius, which has been on my wish list for a very long time. I actually got some for my mom for her birthday last month, and she’s been loving it so much that I knew I had to get myself a bottle. This stuff smells really good, in a fruity, clean way. It’s supposed to keep feet soft and smooth due to fruit acids, so I’m curious to see if/how well it really works.

Lastly, I picked up a couple new lip items. I’m fully convinced that we’re not going to receive any snow this winter (delusional, I know), and am wistfully hoping for spring – hence why I chose such bright pink lip colors. The Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primers have been one of my favorite beauty discoveries in the past few months, so naturally I picked up another one, this time in the color Sweet Pop. I’ve also been looking for a good plumping lip gloss (this may or may not be due to my obsession with Keeping Up With The Kardashians and wanting Kylie Jenner’s lips). Buxom is a brand I’ve been wanting to try out anyway, so I picked up their Full-On Lip Polish in Julie. I’m hoping it will help make my lips look a bit fuller while also being a fun pop of color reminiscent of a sunnier season.
