Summer Dry Skin Saviors

Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean dry skin disappears (at least not for me). I still suffer from dryness even though there’s humidity in the air now. It’s important for me to find products that offer lots of hydration without being too heavy for the warmer weather, and I’ve found a few that are definitely worth writing home about.

The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet ($23) back when I first used in late winter/early spring, and I’m happy to announce that I love it even more in the summer! This has been my go-to moisturizer for the past few weeks and it’s been such a lifesaver. My skin feels incredibly plump and hydrated after using it, and there’s no greasiness left on my face afterwards. It completely soaks into my skin and leaves a refreshingly cold feeling afterwards (which is just a dream in this hot weather).

Another product that has been mentioned here quite a few times is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Rosewater ($7), and if you haven’t tried this yet, you’re missing out. This is one of my favorite skincare products for the summer – it helps tone and soothe my skin as well as give it a boost of hydration. I like to keep my bottle in the fridge as an extra cool treat for my skin on super hot days.

When my skin is looking kind of dull and in serious need of a nourishing pick-me-up, I always reach for a Strawberry Yogurt Sheet Mask by My Beauty Diary ($12 for a pack of 10). The strawberry and yogurt properties really help moisturize and soothe the skin, while calming any redness on my face. There’s few things better than a nice soothing sheet mask at the end of a long day – it’s like a quick little trip to the spa.

Now it’s not just my skin that I have to look after – I also have to regularly use a good lip balm to keep my pout in check. The Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Unique Pink* ($14) is what I’ve been reaching for lately, and it is doing such an incredible job of moisturizing my lips while giving them just a hint of color. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this balm, it is incredibly similar to the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments in both quality and color payoff. I think I’m going to pick up a few other shades the next time I’m in Target.
