Beauty Tryouts #2

Beauty Tryouts #2 | A Girl, ObsessedMakeup Fixing Mist* ($15) several times and can already tell that it’s going to become a summer favorite. You can use it before or after you apply your makeup, depending on if you want to extend your makeup wear or set it + add a soft-focus finish. This stuff is so light and refreshing that I’ll use it throughout the day to help calm and soothe my skin.
Since summer is pretty much here, I’m thinking about bronzers again and Pixi’s Quick Fix Bronzer* ($20) looks like such an interesting product. It’s a velvety matte bronzing powder that’s supposed to add a really nice glow to the complexion. I think what I’m excited about most is the packaging – this has a built-in puff applicator and mirror, so you don’t need any tools to apply this to your face. How cool is that? I’m also looking forward to trying the sample I got of the Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Noir* ($12). The packaging reminds me a lot of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, so I’m hoping it will be a dupe for those because I’d much rather pay $12 instead of $20. Also, I love that these come in so many fun colors! A little bit of a colorful eyeliner can be a great way to add a pop of color to your makeup look without stepping way outside your comfort zone.
Now onto the topic of nails. I’m in another one of my frantic nail painting modes, so naturally there are a few new items in my stash. I picked up Essie’s Absolutely Shore (8.50) after seeing it on several of the beauty blogs I read. Everyone kept saying that it was a really pretty seafoam green, so I knew I had to get it. Depending on how this looks on my nails, it could easily become one of those shades that I wear all year no matter the season. Another new polish is Pixi’s Nail Colour in Coral Cantaloupe* ($8), which was practically made for summer. It’s a gorgeous neon coral-peach color with just the slightest amount of shimmer. I let my mom borrow it for her pedicure and her toes look amazing, it’s definitely the perfect sandal-weather polish.
A few weeks ago, a very sweet reader named Lena contacted me about trying Jamberry Nails. I had heard of Jamberry before but didn’t really know how it all worked, so I checked out Lena’s page. There were so many cute designs and colors to choose from, and they looked like such an easy way to decorate your nails so I knew I had to try them out. I decided to go with the Boutique Set* ($15) because I’m such a huge fan of florals and watercolors, plus it’ll look lovely for summer. I’ll make sure to share an in-depth review of these real soon so you guys can see how these work and what they look like on. I’m really excited to try these because the only thing I’m able to do is paint my nails, nail art and I do not mix.
Are there any products that you’re trying out right now?
