Books are a great background prop that easily adds a little character to your photos. Bonus? You can use the cover for a background or open the book up and use the pages inside!
A simple background that pretty much everybody has is a clean bedspread. If you’ve got a quilt or blanket with a pretty design or simple color, try using it as the backsplash for your next photos. I got my white comforter the Christmas before last, and it’s become my most used photography background.
Much like book covers, simple tablet or laptop cases can be a nice way to add in a prop without pulling too much focus away from the items you’re photographing.
I love using decorative plates and dishes as props in my photos. Anything with a light color and pretty pattern gets a thumbs up from me. You can also use mirror trays, plants pots, and vintage tea cups.
Don’t forget about your clothes! I have a couple tops and dresses that have gorgeous pattern and designs, and I’ll lay them out on my bed for a quick and easy photo backdrop.
If you’re a bit of a stationary hoarder (like me), try using pretty notebooks or paper from your collection! I love using the notebooks from Rifle Paper Co, they’re absolutely gorgeous.
Do you have any backdrop ideas to add to the list? Which one is your favorite?
