As some of you already know, last Saturday I walked my very first 5K! And not only was it my first 5K, but it was The Color Run – something I’ve been wanting to participate in for years! I’ve always let fear hold me back from doing the things I’ve dreamed of doing, but this time I decided to step way outside of my comfort zone and am so glad I did!
The Little Things #5

The run was absolutely crazy and everything I had hoped it would be. I signed up with my mom and a few of our friends from church, and we were a little team called the “Rainbow Dashers”. ^_^ The race was insanely messy, people were everywhere, loud music was blasting, and everyone was having a party. I had been terrified that I wasn’t going to be able to walk 3.1 miles without passing out, but we were at the glitter-soaked finish line before I knew it and I felt like I could keep going for hours.
Crossing that finish line was one of the best feeling in the world. I was so proud of myself for having accomplished a goal that I was extremely afraid of attempting. I did it. I completed a 5K without passing out or getting sick, and I didn’t even have to stop once for a break. In short, I kicked that color run’s ass. 🙂
If you’ve been thinking about joining in The Color Run, DO IT. You will have so much fun, I promise.
