Seeing as how it’s nearly the end of May and almost into June (what?!), I thought it’d be a good time to share my favorite beauty products for the month. This has been a pretty chill month for me, and I haven’t used too many different products (in fact, a good chunk of last month’s favorites were still being used rather obsessively throughout May). I do have a few items to share with you though, and they’re a good variety of products too!
Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette ($29) is one of my favorites for simplicity and versatility. This palette is filled with a fantastic little group of cool-toned neutrals, and I love how flattering a single wash of one of these color looks on the eyes (not to mention how easy and quick it is).
To go along with these eye shadows, I’ve been using the CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara ($7.99) – a product that I originally didn’t quite care for, but now appreciate for it’s ability to make my lashes look a bit more “there” and fanned out while still looking soft and natural. On weekends and days when I’ve wanted more of a “no makeup” look, this has been the mascara I’ve reached for and it’s done the job beautifully.
I’ve been playing it really safe with lip colors lately. I know summer is right around the corner and I’ll probably be sporting a permanent hot pink lip, so I’ve been keeping it relaxed until then. Maybelline’s The Buffs Lipstick in Nude Lust ($7.49) has been my go-to lip color for the past couple weeks (when I’m not using Creme Cup, of course). It’s such a gorgeous medium nude, with just the slightest hint of pink. I think it’s the perfect “Kylie Jenner” nude lip color.
May has definitely been a nail-centric month for me. It’s so funny – sometimes I’ll go a few months without painting my nails once, and then I’ll be obsessed with painting them every few days for an entire season. Anyone else do this too? For May, there were two polishes that stood out as favorites – Essie’s Clambake and Lilacism ($8.50). Clambake is a gorgeous orange-red polish that I currently have on my nails and have vowed to never take off because of it’s pure perfection (I’ve already dubbed it my “summer shade”), and Lilacism is the prettiest gray-toned pastel purple that looks flattering all year long.
My favorite scent for the month (and practically every month) has been the Chloe Eau de Parfum ($105). This is my absolute favorite perfume in the entire world. I love how bright and feminine it smells – floral yet chic – making it perfect for this time of the year. My final favorite for May is my Tangle Teezer ($14.99). This thing is just the coolest. As my hair grows longer, it’s been more prone to tangles and knots. The Tangle Teezer very gently detangles and smoothes out my hair, which is so much healthier for it than raking a big brush through it. If you’re trying to grow out your hair and take better care of it, I highly suggest picking on of these up.
Let me know what your favorite products have been for the month!
