Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes ($29) always come to mind when I’m trying to pack light with my makeup. Since each palette is made up of all neutral colors, it’s super easy to create gorgeous everyday looks and there’s also darker shadows to create a smokey eye look for nighttime. The palettes also include a built-in mirror which is really handy, so the only other thing you’ll need to pack is an eyeshadow brush.
For shorter trips or if you don’t need as many color options, the Lorac Pocket Pro ($15) is a great option. This little palette has three beautiful shades, all neutral, and you can get away with using them by themselves or together to create different looks. I’ve had quite the crush on this palette ever since getting it, and it’s been traveling in my makeup bag for weeks. It travels well, barely takes up any room, and also has a little built-in mirror so you don’t have to worry about packing a mirror.
If you’re wanting to keep it minimal during your travels and only need a wash of color over your lids, the Maybelline Color Tattoos ($6.99) are for you. These little pots of cream eyeshadow are some of the best I’ve ever tried, they’re affordable, and they come in a great array of colors and finishes. A swipe of one of these over the lids creates a gorgeous look that’s easy and effortless, but will have others thinking you spent hours on your makeup. The first color I tried from this collection was Bad To The Bronze, and I have to say that it’s one of their best.
