Benefit’s Majorette booster blush ($28), I knew it would have to be added to my collection.
Majorette is described as “a peppy booster blush that amplifies cheeks”. It’s a cream-to-powder formula, and can be worn alone for a peachy glow or underneath a powder blush to give your cheeks a little something extra.
When I first saw this blush in person, I was a little skeptical of the color because it appears so bright and gaudy in the packaging. Once I applied some to my cheeks though, I was happy to see that it blends into a really lovely peach shade that I think will be flattering on almost anybody. I’ve yet to wear a powder blush on over this, I’ve honestly just been enjoying it on it’s own for a nice wash of color. Since it is initially a cream formula, I’ve been using a basic stippling brush to apply Majorette to my cheeks and blend it out.
The packaging is absolutely adorable, in my opinion. Since this product is called “majorette”, the case was designed to look like a vintage tambourine, which I think is super cute and perfectly in line with Benefit’s overall retro/mod style. It opens/closes with a magnet, which I’m always a fan of over a snap closure. The case also includes a small mirror built in – it’s not the greatest in terms of size, but if it’s the only mirror you’ve got to work with, it should do just fine.
The last thing I have to mention is that there is a slight scent. Benefit describes the scent as a mix of peach and pomegranate, but to me it smells ever so slightly of play-doh. I know, that’s probably the weirdest description of a beauty product scent, but that’s honestly what it reminds me of. It’s light though, and I don’t notice it once I’ve applied the blush to my cheeks so I don’t think it’s something that you need to worry about.
Overall, I think that this is a lovely blush and I’ve really been enjoying it so far. Is it one that you absolutely need in your collection? Maybe not. But, if you’re a blush fanatic like myself or are looking for a peachy blush to add a fresh glow for spring/summer, then I definitely think you should check this one out.
