Essie “Sole Mate” This was probably my most-worn polish for fall/winter. It’s such an easy shade to pull off and I love how moody it is. This wins out for my favorite dark polish of the year (and probably every year after).
LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub I recently wrote a whole post about this lovely lip scrub. Go check it out if you haven’t yet for a more in-depth review, and try this scrub if you’re dealing with chapped lips because it will change your life…….is that a bit dramatic? 😉
The Body Shop Vitamin E Hand & Nail Treatment A hand cream for the books, I tell you. This has been on my nightstand for months and is used every night before bed. It’s really an incredible cream, and has made my hands so so soft.
Too Faced La Creme Lipstick in Marshmallow Bunny Favorite lipstick of the year!!! I am head over heels for the color, the name, and the quality of this product. Everything about it is pure luxury, from the creamy consistency to the gold metal packaging.
Essie “Lilacism” This one is a much more recent favorite (within the last couple months), but it is such a gorgeous color that I had to share it. Lilacism is one of those colors that you can get away with wearing all year long. It’s a gorgeous pastel pale purple and looks good on everybody.
L’Oreal Color Riche Balm in Pink Satin If you can’t tell, I kind of had a thing for a pink lip this year. This balm was my go-to, “not wearing makeup but I am” lip color. It is a very light pink, almost sheer but with a small hint of color so it was perfect for the days where I went very minimal with my makeup. I really love the quality of these balms too, they’re just lovely.
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer I remember when this came out, everyone started buying it up because it was supposed to be a dupe for Benefit’s The POREfessional. While I don’t believe it to be an exact dupe, I found myself grabbing this most days instead. I really like the consistency of it and how well it kept my makeup in place, plus you can’t beat the price difference.
Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner For me, this has been my holy grail liquid liner. I know there are supposed to be high end liners that are amazing, but I just can’t bring myself to try them because this one works so well. It’s absolutely fab!
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Ginger Pop This blush was my BFF all summer long. It’s so gorgeous with it’s creamy powder texture, super blendability (yes that is now a word), and bronzy-coral color. How many months until summer again?
NARS Radiant Cream Concealer in Chantilly 2014 was the year I finally found a concealer that actually concealed. I had spent years searching for something that would cover up dark circles, redness, and any acne, all the while matching my skin tone perfectly. Let me tell ya, boys and girls, this is it. The best concealer I’ve ever used (and I’ve tried a bunch).
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Another summer favorite. This bad boy helped keep me from looking like a puddle on hot days. Just a swipe and dab of this over my face, and my makeup was set and matte for the hours.
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette After purchasing, this palette quickly became part of my daily makeup routine. It has the perfect amount of shades for you to create lovely neutral looks that work great for every day, plus it’s small and compact so it’s great for travel or in your makeup bag.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzer in shade 02 I’ve used a couple different bronzers throughout the year, but this one really stood out as my favorite and most used. I like how the color isn’t super strong and “dirty” looking. Instead, it’s a bronzer that I can use daily to add a bit of a sun kissed glow, and it is buildable if I want to use it more for contouring.
NYX BB Cream in Nude This was my favorite foundation of the year, and even though it’s not technically a foundation, I was able to use it as such thanks to it’s brilliant coverage. I will absolutely be buying tubes upon tubes of this stuff for years to come.
Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish in Wet Cement I’m a sucker for taupes, they’re my neutral of choice. When I saw this polish I bought it immediately, partly because of the gorgeous brown/gray/mushroom color, and partly because of the price (how could I pass up a $1.99 bottle of nail polish?). It quickly became of favorite because it looks so fantastic on my nails. And it’s taupe. And only $1.99. Need I say more?
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black Y’all have heard me rave and rave about this stuff, and for good reason. I tried a handful of new mascaras over the year and this one definitely stood out from the rest. It just applies so beautifully, separating my lashes, curling them, and making them look longer. I’m hoping this is one L’Oreal keeps around for a long while.
Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss This lip balm is like a little lip spa trip in a pot. I’ve dealt with horribly chapped lips and this has healed them up in a day. It’s a very smooth and soothing lip balm, and it smells absolutely divine.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Ah yes, the palette that started it all. I got this palette last year for Christmas, and because the quality and color payoff was so incredible, added 2 more Urban Decay palettes within the same year. I feel a little sentimental towards this palette seeing as how it was the first truly high end product I owned. It will always be an old favorite of mine. 🙂
