Designed For Life 2014

Designed For Life conference, a 3-day event created by the female pastors from my church that is devoted to women’s fellowship and studying God’s word. I went last year for the first time and it was an amazing experience, but this year was even better because it’s grown so big that it had to be moved from our church to a large arena downtown. So many sisters in Christ gathered together to celebrate how awesome He is and the beauty of being strong, compassionate women. I learned so much, and feel closer to God than I ever have before. And even though I was only able to attend on Friday, I was able to watch the other sessions online (which was a huge blessing!). So many good things from this weekend, I’m so thankful!

God and my faith is a topic that I never talk about here on my blog, mostly due to it being one of those things that you just don’t talk about (like politics, finances, etc). I’ve never wanted someone to read my blog and feel that I’m shoving my beliefs down their throat, but God is the biggest part of my life and I’d like to share my journey with Him here when I feel it’s appropriate. I’ve always felt like I’ve had to hide the fact that I’m a Christian on my blog so as to not offend anyone, but I’d like to be completely open and honest and not have to hide any part of who I am (and I of course want to extend that same freedom to all of my readers – please don’t feel like you can’t read and/or comment if you have differing beliefs/opinions, I am accepting of anyone and everyone! ^_^).

I am a Christian. I was saved when I was around 10-years-old at my aunt’s church in Las Vegas. God is the main focus of my life, and over the past year I’ve been growing more and more in my relationship with Him. I’m so excited to be able to share this here…this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders! 🙂 xoxo Mandy

P.S. I’d be a truly terrible daughter if I didn’t end this post by wishing my daddy a very happy birthday! I love ya, old man!
