And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie is one of the best murder-mysteries I’ve ever read. You really can’t go wrong with a mysterious island, an old mansion, a group of strangers, and a super creepy nursery rhyme.
Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk is a crazy, intense, darkly funny story. The characters, namely a former (and now disfigured) fashion model and a pill-popping drag queen, are fantastically raw and broken, learning throughout the book who they really want to be.
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen is the perfect, romantic, summer love story. Dessen has a way of creating these characters that you instantly connect to. Every time I read this book, I end it wishing I knew these characters in real life (and seriously considering getting a job with a catering company).
Valley Of The Dolls by Jacqueline Susann is a great read, especially for fans of Mad Men. The story is set in 1945 and is about Anne, Jennifer, and Neely – all loosely-based on famous women of the era.
#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso is probably one of the most talked about books right now in the blog world. Written by the CEO and founder of Nasty Gal, it’s a must read for any girl looking to become her own boss.
I’d love to know what your summer beach reads are. If you read any of these (or have before), make sure to let me know what you think! xoxo Mandy
