20 Weekend Activities To Help Improve Your Blog

Now that Friday is here, I’m starting to plan out my weekend activities and what all I’d like to get accomplished. Weekends are often the time when I get the most done for my blog. Between taking photos, updating my editorial calendar, responding to emails, and performing maintenance on the site, there is always something to be done. There’s a lot that can be accomplished in a weekend though – here are some of the activities I like to do to help improve my blog.

20 Weekend Activities To Help Improve Your Blog

  1. Update old posts with fresh photos
  2. Update old posts with new information
  3. Upload a new profile pic
  4. Clean up the sidebar(s) + footer of any old/unnecessary info
  5. Get rid of any old posts that are super outdated or no longer relevant
  6. Update the About Me page
  7. Update any links to important sites and social media
  8. Plan blog posts for the week/month
  9. Work on your editorial calendar for the next month
  10. Schedule your tweets for the next week
  11. Plan out your Instagram photo for the upcoming week
  12. Prepare your Pinterest posts for the week and get them scheduled
  13. Take/edit a bunch of photos for future posts
  14. Visit and comment on other blogs
  15. Catch up on emails and messages
  16. Reach out to brands you’d like to potentially work with
  17. Go through old posts and work on the titles to improve SEO
  18. If you use WordPress, download the Yoast SEO plugin and use it to update the SEO for all of your previous posts
  19. Research how to improve certain blog-related techniques you use, like what all of the settings on your camera are or how to use Photoshop
  20. Get active on social media – leave likes and comments, follow new accounts, and network with people

I always take pictures and write up blog posts on weekends, it’s my little creative activity that I like to keep up! And it helps with making sure I’m always ahead with blog posts, instead of finding myself without anything to post in the middle of the week and no time to write because I’m too busy with other things. Great tips Mandy!
