Makeup For Brown Eyes
I feel like when most makeup brands and bloggers consider the topic of makeup for a certain eye color, brown eyes tend to get left out a lot. I always see products to enhance blue, green, or hazel eyes - but what about all of us brown-eyed girls? So, today I decided to put together a little roundup of makeup that goes beautifully with dark eyes.
I think the colors that flatter brown eyes most are mauves, taupes, smoky greys, and pinky nudes. The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette has almost all of these colors, which is probably why I love it so much. You can create so many gorgeous looks with this palette, everything from simple daytime wear all the way to smoky, more dramatic nighttime looks. I love wearing a single wash of Suspect or Snakebite all over the lid - either shade really makes my eyes pop. To go along with taupe brown shadows, I really like to use a brown-toned eyeliner - the IT Cosmetics No-Tug Gel Eyeliner in Black/Brown* is what I've started recently using. I like how soft and natural a brown liner looks in comparison to a black one - it's much nicer for daytime.
Mauve and berry pinks are my favorites for the cheeks when I want to flatter my brown eyes. MAC's Powder Blush in Blushbaby is a gorgeous mauve-meets-beige color that adds a really natural contour to the cheeks as well as a bit of color. For a pop of berry, I love using Benefit's Hervana Blush - not only is the packaging super cute, but the color is so fun to wear. I think pink goes so well with brown, so this is definitely one of my favorites.
For lips, it all depends on how I've done the rest of my makeup. If I've chosen to really do up my eyes to make them stand out, I'll go with a lighter, pinky-nude shade, like Maybelline's Creamy Matte Lipstick in Daringly Nude or Stila's Lip Glaze in Gleam. This offers a more natural color so my eyes can be the focal point of the look. If I've played it safe with my eyes and went for a more simple look, I'll jazz it up a bit with a plum or berry colored lipstick, like MAC's Lipstick in Craving. With a pretty shade like this, it compliments my brown eyes without overshadowing them.
