A Sunday Beauty Edit
Sunday is definitely my favorite day of the week. Besides church and dinner with family, it's the day that I get to relax and refresh for the week ahead. I always try to use this time to get a break from wearing lots of makeup and heavy products. Instead, I like opting for lightweight skincare products that will nourish my complexion and give my skin a chance to just be. It dawned on me a few days ago that I've unintentionally created a little beauty routine specific to Sundays, so I thought I would share it with you guys today.
The three things I focus on most on Sundays are purifying, exfoliating, and moisturizing. Since I'm giving my skin a break for the day, I like to treat it and give it as much TLC as possible. To start off, I use the Aesop Parsley Seed Masque to completely cleanse and clarify my skin. This is one of my favorite masks to help clear my complexion. It's a mud mask, so it sucks all of the dirt and residue out of your pores. I especially like it because it isn't too harsh for my sensitive skin. After I've rinsed that off, I like to spritz my face with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea for a hydrating boost, and while that soaks in I switch my focus to my lips.
For the lips, I always stick to a simple yet effective process - exfoliate, then hydrate. Taking the Fresh Sugar Lip Polish*, I gently scrub my lips, focusing on any areas that are especially dry and patchy. I'm a huge fan of this lip scrub because the granules of sugar are so finely milled, so it's not overly abrasive on your skin. Also, it's made with highly nourishing oils that help leave your lips feeling super soft afterwards. Once that's rinsed off, I apply some of the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment* all over my lips (seriously the best lip balm I have ever used), and they're set for the day.
Now that the facial spray has soaked in, I move back to my face to finish up. To help with exfoliation, I've been using Pixi's Overnight Glow Serum*. I'm such a huge fan of their Glow Tonic, so whenever they come out with a new product in the Glow family, I make sure to add it to my routine right away. Chemical exfoliants are so amazing and honestly give me better results than most physical exfoliators, but the key is to use them regularly in order to see a consistent improvement. Once the serum has soaked in, I finish up but applying a few drops of the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil evenly over my face. My skin just soaks this oil up so quickly, and it's left feeling incredibly soothed and calm. The key is to not use too much - a little really goes a long way. As a final little pampering treat, I like to give my hands a nice massage using the Lano Rose Hand Cream. Not only is the scent fantastically real, this hand cream is formulated to put a kind of "protective barrier" over your skin, which means you're left with super soft hands for hours. It's really the nicest treat.
