3 Steps To A Simplified Season
Though we're still over a month away from the official start of Spring, I'm eager to get the new season started. Early Spring is one of my favorite times of the year because of the fresh start and general sense of renewal. Since my goal for the year is to live a more minimalistic lifestyle, I've decided to use this new season as an excuse to really dive into simple living. If you're on a similar journey to minimalism and would like to take advantage of this fresh season with me, here are the 3 steps I'm taking to enjoy a more simplified Spring.
Take Advantage Of Spring Cleaning
This step is huge if you want a less stressful season. Having a full clean of your home and all of your belongings might seem like a huge hassle, but it will make you feel so much better in the end. I love taking this time to go through everything I own and get rid of anything I no longer use or need. Once that's done, I clean every room in my home, usually sticking with one room a day so I don't get overwhelmed. The feeling after a full Spring clean is unrivaled, and a great way to kick start your simplified season.
Decide What Really Matters
Though I'm sure we'd all love to be able to boast about completing huge to-do lists, it's that exact busyness that can kill slow, intentional living. When working towards a simple lifestyle, I think it's important to let go of that need to do everything yourself, and instead focus on what truly matters. Piling yourself down with a million things on your to-do lists is just going to stress you out and take away from the joy of a slower lifestyle. Take a real, honest look at everything in your life, from your daily tasks to the goals and dreams you have for your future, and decide what's necessary and what's just filler that you've felt pressured to keep in your routine.
Embrace Living In The Now
It can be so easy to breeze through life rushing from one thing to the next without actually taking time to enjoy the moment that we're in. I think one of the main points of living simply is to enjoy life more fully, and not just any life but one that is robust and full of meaning. Take time to be thankful for what you have, spend some moments being aware of exactly where you are and everything around you, and try to regularly take notice of little details that make living so sweet. It's things like this that help ground you in the moment, and make you appreciative of the crazy adventure that is life.
