Gift Guide: Luxe Beauty
Today I'm back with a new gift guide, and it probably comes as no surprise that it's my favorite of the bunch. I'm unapologetically a beauty obsessive. When it comes to makeup or skincare, I love trying as much as I can to find the best of the best. For this gift guide, I've compiled all of my favorite luxe beauty finds from the past few years. High end beauty makes a great gift because it's higher quality than what most people use on the daily, and the person receiving it is sure to be thrilled.
My top makeup recommendation will always be Charlotte Tilbury. This is one of the best brands I've ever tried, and while her products pack a hefty price tag, they're worth every penny. I highly suggest the lipsticks if you're new to the brand. The shades Pillow Talk and Very Victoria are both fantastic pink options that are more on the neutral side and look fantastic on every skin tone. For eyeshadow lovers, the eye quads are especially nice because they are small and compact but give you enough colors to create a few different looks for both day and night.
Stila is another brand that I've been loving a lot lately and definitely recommend. Their liquid lipsticks are amazing - they stay in place all day, come in an array of gorgeous colors (including so many nudes), and are really easy to apply and wear so they'd make a great gift for anyone. Stila also has the most incredible liquid glitter shadows that are perfect for anyone on your list that loves to rock a sparkly eye look. Shopping for the girl who has everything? Give her Stila's Heaven's Hue Highlighter in Kitten - it's a squishy, putty-like highlighter in the prettiest champagne shade, certainly a unique item and gift idea.
Urban Decay recently launched a new limited edition eyeshadow palette called Distortion* that is absolutely dreamy. It includes 10 traditional shades and five transformer shades that allow you to create your own custom duotone hues. I can just imagine all of the mermaid and unicorn-inspired looks that can be created with this palette, and think it would make the perfect gift for anyone who likes to wear fun colors and experiment with their makeup.
Lipsticks are always a fun gift to receive, and they work great as an actual present as well as a stocking stuffer. Tom Ford has some incredible lipsticks that wear beautifully and are a great addition to anyone makeup collection. Then there's the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipsticks that are great for those that like something a little more hydrating with less intense color. And of course, this list wouldn't be complete without mentioning NARS - their Powermatte Lip Pigments are some of the best liquid lipsticks I've tried, plus they've got classic items like the Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows and the Radiance Primer that will never go out of style.
For skincare gifts, I immediately have to jump to Fresh Beauty. They're one of my favorite skincare brands at the moment, and I could easily recommend every item they create. The Sugar Lip Treatments are an easy option because everyone loves a good hydrating lip balm and the light wash of color means they can work both as a skincare item as well as makeup. Then there's the Rose Cleansing Foam*, a gentle cleanser that works perfectly for all skin types. If you're not sure what the person you're shopping for would like, you can always go with one of Fresh's limited edition holiday gift bundles like the Sugar Lip Lovelies* or the Bodycare Besties*. These already come in festive packaging and include a few different items so the gift recipient can try out a handful of things from the brand to hopefully find a new favorite or two.
A few fun skincare items that are probably less considered for gifts would be a face mask or hydrating spray. Glamglow has some amazing high end masks and treatments that work wonders for the skin, as well as creating a rather relaxing experience (one or two would be perfect in a spa-themed gift basket!). A great facial spray option is the Beauty Elixir from Caudalie. This soothing, replenishing mist is practically the fountain of youth in a bottle, and it works great as a setting spray after makeup as well. If all else fails, you can't go wrong with a good perfume. I highly recommend the Jo Malone fragrances. There are a variety of scents to choose from, so you're sure to find the perfect match for the person on your list. Also, the fragrance lasts all day so you don't have to keep reapplying every few hours, which means you won't be going through the bottle quickly.
Which luxe beauty item would you love to gift to someone this Christmas?
