The Makeup Edit #11

The Makeup Edit #11 | A Girl, Obsessed

September has gone by incredibly quickly, and it's already time for me to share which products I've been carrying in my makeup bag for the month. I meant to film a video/tutorial for this like I did last month, but I was so busy this past week and didn't get a chance to film anything. So, we're back to post format for this roundup, I hope you guys don't mind. Anywho, let's dive into the contents of September's makeup bag!

For my face, I've been trying to keep things light this month. We're still not out of the summer heat just yet, so lightweight products have been a must. My mom gave me the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm in Snow Glow at the beginning of September, and I've been using it like crazy for the past couple weeks. I'm absolutely in love with the texture of this BB cream - it's incredibly hydrating and sort of "melts" into the skin. The coverage is light and it really helps to even out your skin tone for a more healthy glow. Since it's a lighter base, some days I've needed to pop on a bit of Urban Decay's Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Neutral to cover any major blemishes. Luckily my skin has been pretty decent this month, so I've really only needed it to conceal my under eye circles (which I'm convinced will never fully disappear, no matter what I do).

Color-wise, I've kept it really neutral this month. I've been enjoying a more natural look - something pretty and feminine, but that hardly takes any time or effort. ColourPop's Highlighter in Spoon has been a lifesaver because it's been so versatile. I've been using it to add a glow to my cheeks, as well as highlighting under my brows and the inner corners of my eyes. For my brows, I've been focusing more on plucking and trimming so I don't have to spend as much time trying to share them with products. Benefit's Gimme Brow has been awesome because I can just brush a little through to fill in any sparse bits and then I'm good to go.

I've been a bit lazy when it comes to my eyes, opting for smoked out liner and full lashes rather than worrying about eyeshadows. Pixi's Lash Line Ink* has been my go-to for a quick top line with a slight flick, and then I've been using Pink Dust's Waterproof Gel Eye Liner in Noir* to darken my waterline and tightline, as well as smoke out the outer third of my lower lash line. For my lashes, I've been using a combo of two of Pixi's new mascaras - the Lengthy Fiber Mascara* and the Lower Lash Mascara*. Both have been working quite well together to give me big, full lashes, the fiber mascara especially - it's packed full of small fibers (a lot like the famous Younique 3D Mascara) that attach to your lashes, making them longer and thicker looking, as if you're wearing falsies.

The final beauty bit in my makeup bag this month has been the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Simply Nude*. When I was originally sent this I thought it was going to be too light for my skin tone, but upon using it I've absolutely fallen in love with the color. It's a light nude pink that reminds me a lot of something Kim K would wear. I really like how glossy and hydrating it is - definitely something you have to reapply after eating or throughout the day, but I don't mind because it feels so lovely on the lips when applying.
