As much as I'd like to have hours every morning for my beauty routines, most days don't allow for that much indulgence. On days when I'm super busy and only have a few minutes to get ready, there are always a few certain products that I reach for to look put together and fresh faced. The following beauty items allow me to minimize the time it takes to get ready in the morning while still giving excellent results.
When I don't have time to do my skincare routine in the morning, I at least make sure to use a facial spray. These are usually full of vitamins and nutrients for the skin, and they're a great way to wake up the face and give you some added moisture. If you've never tried a face mist before and don't want to spend a ton of money on one, I highly suggest the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. You can get a bottle for only $7 at Ulta, and the spray nozzle creates a really fine mist so it evenly distributes over your entire face.
If you can't be bothered to spend time perfectly filling in your brows on a busy morning, but also hate the thought of leaving the house with them in their current state, then you should definitely consider getting a brush-in brow gel. A lot of brands, both drugstore and high end, are making their own brow gels right now, so it should be easy for you to find one that works for you. I personally love Benefit's Gimme Brow - it makes filling in your brows super easy and gives a nice "natural" look without much work. The little brush that you use to apply the product is very small, so you don't have to worry about slapping too much on.
A "Do It All" Mascara
Having a good "do it all" mascara will save you from having to spend a lot of time doing your eyes on busy mornings. If you don't already have one, look for something that will add volume, curl, and length in just a coat or two. A great drugstore option is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. This has gotten a lot of hype in the online beauty community, and for good reason. This makes my lashes really stand out and look bigger, without appearing spidery. It's a great mascara to toss in your purse or makeup bag for days when you're in the car about to go into the store and you remember you don't have any makeup on.
Tinted Lip Balm
You can't go wrong with a good tinted lip balm, and even if you're not going to wear any makeup for the day, it's still a good product to have around. We're about to get into fall and winter (aka dry lip seasons), so it's especially important to pick something up now to avoid getting chapped lips. My favorite thing to use is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose. These are so hydrating and glide onto your lips like butter, plus the rose shade is a nice natural color that doesn't call a lot of attention to your pout (perfect for "no makeup" days or simple everyday looks).
Slept in late and now you don't have time to shower? Mask slightly dirty hair with a little bit of dry shampoo. I like using the Batiste Dry Shampoo because you can spray it right in at the roots and brush it out for a freshly washed look. This is one of the few dry shampoos I've found that doesn't leave any telltale white residue in my hair (lucky blondes!), plus it helps thicken up your hair and give it some new life (which it definitely needs after you slept on it all night).
Body + Hair Mist
My final busy day must have is an all over body + hair mist. Just like in the example above, some days you just don't have time to pop through the shower in the morning like you meant to. When this happens, I always make sure to spritz myself with a light mist to keep me smelling nice all day. Anese has a collection of Hydrating Body & Hair Elixirs that are absolutely to die for. I've got the scent Smells Like Queen Spirit, which is a delicious blend of orange blossom and vanilla. I really love these because they're formulated to be misted over all of your hair and body, giving you a full body refresh (which means they're ideal for nights at a concert or bar where people have been smoking).
