Crochet is something that has been a huge part of life. After high school, my mom taught me all of the basics of the trade. Then, I spent the next year learning as much as possible and became absolutely obsessed with making things with yarn. I even had a shop for a few years where I sold crochet accessories. In 2013, I really started missing making things by hand, and so I picked up my hooks and started crocheting a bunch of pieces. It was totally at random, and I really didn't know what I was going to do with the things I was creating. Should I keep them for myself? Give them to friends and relatives? Start selling them again? Nothing really felt right, so I stored them away and told myself I would come to a decision later.
A couple of weeks ago, I finally reached that "later". I had been tossing around the idea of opening a crochet shop again and selling my wares, and it finally felt like now was the right time. I knew what kind of pieces I wanted to make and sell, had a very clear ethos for my brand, and had learned some invaluable business lessons from watching my parents build their business. All of the pieces had finally fallen into place, and I was ready to take on this new, yet familiar venture. I've spent the past few weeks perfecting my brand, and I'm so excited to finally welcome you all to...Reverie Handmade.
When I think of handmade, crocheted accessories, I think of warmth. Coziness. Logs on the fire. Walking through the woods. Burning candles. Changing leaves. Crisp air. These are all things that I want my shop to embody and evoke. I want to adorn people with quality goods that are purely made with just my hands and a hook, and some of the coziest wool blend yarn around. I'm very passionate about the simple joys of something handmade, and hope I can pass that love onto everyone who shops with Reverie Handmade.
